When we let God use the challenging seasons in our life for His glory and our good, growth happens. I and the staff of Jeremiah’s Promise have experienced this firsthand.
The autumn of 2024 was one of the most painful seasons of my life, as it was for some of our staff. Evil had permeated a very special place to us. The spiritual warfare was real and it was heavy. But during scary and challenging times, we are reminded to look for answers in His Word and seek Him in prayer. God through Jesus Christ is our source of truth and healing. When all this was going on we were also looking for God’s hand...what He was doing, where He was working, We were also watching the people He put in our path. It’s when you are at your lowest point is when you find out who your friends are. They are the ones kneeling WITH you, as well as interceding FOR you. They are the ones holding up your arms in the battle. They are the ones encouraging you (even pushing you) to take that next step in obedience to the Lord.
My constant prayer since last November is that God will take what the enemy meant for evil and use it for HIS glory and He would heal all those hurt. As I sit here I am listening to our sweet Pals learning and laughing while doing their activities, I am so grateful and humbled to my knees. I randomly, throughout the day, throw a hand up in worship as I see or hear of yet another work of the Lord here in this little church where we meet. God is so very good.
Jeremiah’s Promise is a place of peace and joy for our Pals and our staff. It is a place where God’s presence can be felt and the work of His hand can be seen. It is also a safe haven where learning and growth can happen, along with uproarious laughter at any point in time! It’s a place where friendships are made and grown. Even us parents have found new and deeper friendships after last fall. As was evidenced yesterday morning, when a group of our parents huddled together on the front porch of the church to pray. God can do mighty things when stuff like that goes on! Let's keep praying!
